Content vs Context
Although we live in the era of Content Marketing, the content itself is just a part of the total marketing. The content needs to be placed in a context that is relevant for your target customers. More specific the same content can have slightly different context for the different hierarchies in a company: a Department Manager will have different interests than the Business Unit Manager or VP and they will have different interests than the CxO level of the same company.
Content and Context vs Presentation
The content and the context need to be presented in such a manner that your target group or target person sees and understands the relevancy for his environment. So even if the same content and context is presented to different people in the hierarchy of a company, it can be the presentation needs to be different. A manager will take more time to understand thoroughly than the CEO who needs to know briefly the advantages and benefits.
As the audience, their interests and needs are different the same content and same context need to be presented differently.
Do you change your content, context and presentation when presenting to managers, VP’s or CxO’s ?
